We’ve had the ability to order online for pickup or delivery for some time now. Although, it seems not many people use it so I wanted to do a quick intro to how ours works. The simple bottom line is we manage our online orders via Square Online so it integrates with the on board Point of Sale in the truck. This allows us to manage tickets and prep times the same way for both window, call in, and online orders. We also DO OFFER delivery via DoorDash, but the only thing that seems to confuse people is why we are not “listed” on DoorDash application or website, and there’s a reason for that. It does not mean you can’t order with DoorDash Delivery, the process is actually a little easier (and cheaper for you) here’s why.
Square Online Delivery vs DoorDash Direct
The biggest thing for a merchant here is DoorDash takes a MINIMUM of 15% commission up to as much as 30% commission on orders placed through their plarform. While these commissions go to credit process, advertising, platform use and many other things, it actually means most merchants have to INCREASE the selling price through DoorDash. Next time, look at the price on a menu, then look at the doordash price. Here is one example of a local Pizza place from their own online ordering, vs their Door Dash page.
You can see how the DoorDash Price is clearly higher, and that is so the merchant can pay the commissions, which makes perfect sense and nobody should fault them for that. There is no way anyone can sell for the same price as they do in store, and then pay the DoorDash commissions after the sale they would lose money. Then there is the delivery fees on top of that in some cases which as we know some merchants waive or do deals on.
Square Online USES DoorDash to deliver, but they ONLY charge the merchant a flat fee for the service then any delivery fee. This allows us (if you have not noticed) to sell the items for the SAME price, at the window, online for pickup or online for delivery. While we are not listed on the DoorDash app, those extra commissions don’t seem worth it to have to raise our prices when we can just use the integrated system we have.
Next time you use our mobile app or website to order online notice the first option you get is PICKUP or DELIVERY. We also offer free delivery on orders over $50 and we sometimes adjust that seasonally too. You just have to click/tap the delivery option or the pickup option.

Hopefully now you know why we don’t use the DoorDash platform, BUT we do offer delivery via Square Online and they in fact send it to DoorDash drivers to deliver to you. All you have to do is order online when it’s available in the mobile app or the website! Using our system actually saves you money.
